Mah-bad...

...so it's been like, a week. ahem...maybe more, i don't know i can't really remember....anyway. i made this cute little sign to go along with my witch broom (which i have yet to show you) i think it turned out pretty cute...

do you get it? because my mom didn't, and i got a little frustrated thinking that i had failed and then my brother kindly explained it to her and she got it...i think. so i have this awesomely cool witch broom that i made and this sign goes with it, because when the broom is here, so is she, so it says "IN"...ya know? okay.

well, i'll be posting about the broom this week sometime so don't you worry (since i could tell you were really stressing that you might not see it)

rain is something that will always make me smile because...

i can wear my hair like this. and...

i can wear my awesome silky-on-the-outside-fuzzy-on-the-inside pajama pants and my way-to-big-for-me man sweater, and cuddle up and watch a good movie, or read a good book...

or do the homework that i've been meaning to do...but who wants to ruin a good movie session with homework?... :)

Witch hat!

i made this witch hat and even though it's pretty simple, i think it turned out pretty well. to make it wrinkle and stay stiff, i just sprayed it with some trusty clear Krylon with a satin finish. there's a little cat bell hanging from the tip...

you can't see it too well in the pictures but there's spider webbing on it and around the lace to make it seem a little more "witchy"

...a little bow with a purple spider ring holding it together in the middle. :)

Halloween Decor!!! :)

okay, so i gotta admit that i never was the biggest halloween lover. but all of a sudden i've gotten this kick and i am loving all of the ideas there are for decorating!!

these are my cute little punkins that i made!  i just sliced up a bunch of 1-inch pieces of paper, glued their ends together, and voila! :) 

it's kinda hard to see, but the stems are some gold ribbon that i had rolled up. i know this is a crime, but i have NO brown paper that i could've used for it... :(

TGIF!!

wow! what a week it's been. i'm not really sure what it is, but i am just completely beat!

maybe it has something to do with the fact that volleyball practices on monday, wednesday, and friday go until 5:00 or 5:30, and i don't get home from the games that are on tuesdays and thursdays until 9:00.

then lets not forget the fact that my math teacher is terrible (at least for me) and i don't get any of it, plus i've got homework in most of my other classes.

i swear they are trying to rid the world of teenagers! (when i say "they", i actually have no idea who i'm really talking about) with all this going on, the only time i have for crafting is on saturday's and sundays... :(

OH! and my sister-in-law just had her baby (my second nephew) this morning at 8:20 and he weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. :) yay for babies! :)

Baby Blanket

So this is what i did on saturday. it was so awesome to finally have a free day. and something about the weather here lately has just made me feel fresh...i LOVE fall!! :) anyway, so my sister-in-law is due to have her baby on the 28th (another boy!) so my mother and i decided to make a quilt. really, it was just her paying for the fabric and me making it... haha! :)

these are the fabric that we used...sorry about the bad lighting!

i looked around on the internet a little, and saw this adorable one with this elephant on it. so i drew my own (our printer wasn't working) and made this guy! i love his little stitched tail and the ear that is stuffed and sticks off! :) the striped fabric is really soft and it's what the whole back is!

i stuck these on with heat-n-bond and then stitched around the edges...

...i did that with the whole cute little path of stars and circles ascending from the elephant :)

i just need to sew the back onto it and it'll be done! pictures to come!

Pants to shorts

i don't think i can actually qualify this as refashioning, because really, it's just cutting stuff off...but anyway, this is the before...

i know they're too short, but something about them like this makes me look weird (is it just me?)

 a snip, snip here, a chop chop there, aaaaaaaand...........

ta-da!!! :) i know they look a little lopsided but that's just because of the way i'm standing. and one leg IS bigger than the other because of an ACL surgery almost a year ago...sad. :( 

well, anyway, i now have a new pair of shorts! :)

Mixin' It Up...

Okay, so i'm super-duper, uber-duber picky, and haven't found what i need to complete the sneak peek that i gave you so you'll just have to keep on waiting, sorry! i do, however have other things to show you... :)

Before i begin might i just say that D.I. is the best store ever invented, i mean, seriously? it's awesome! anyway.

this is my fabulous new paper cutter, purchased for a grand total of $3!!! yes, it's true!! :) my mom and i went to michael's really quick right before we got this and the cheapest GOOD one was fifty bucks. ah, the joys of thrift shopping!!

i think this stamp is so adorable!!! i got this at michaels on clearance for $3. i make all the cards that my mom gives to people for weddings and i think this is SOOOOO CUTE!!! :)

i aslo bought this guy in the clearance space at michael's for $4, i think. it's a border punch and i've already used it and i think it looks so great!

this is the first card i made with my new purchases! :) haha! 

 you can't tell, but the stems of the flowers below were drawn with this awesome silver marker that i have, it looks black in the picture... :(

this is the second card i made...very simple. i only had about five minutes to make both of them, so i wasn't trying to get fancy with 'em.

I know...and I'm sorry!

So basically, i'm the definition of a complete slacker... i sort of have excuses, but not really. first i'll post a few pics from my brothers wedding...

these were at the temple...now for the reception center, it was AH-mazing!!!!

I loved her idea of little mason jars for cups...the striped straws are perfect as well! :)

so, other than that going on, schools been going and i've had a volleyball tournament every single weekend with an occasional game here and there...i'll try not to make excuses, but i just did. :)
