365 Weeks #32-33

Day #217: SELF-PORTRAIT

Haha. Right after I use the diffuser on my hair, it is so crazy for about five minutes before it settles down a little. This is just a little after, sorta crazy but not as bad as it is RIGHT after. :)

Day #218: PEOPLE

Sweet little nephew. Dinner time!

Day #219: FOOD

I love a good Oreo.

Day #220: BLACK AND WHITE

Detergent and fabric softener. It still amazes me that I have friends that don't know how to do their laundry. :)

Day #221: COLORS

Shoe box of my lovely Tom rip-offs that Soda makes. (Did that sentence make any sense at all?)

Day #222: AROUND THE HOUSE

It was my mommy's birthday. We always hang streamers from the fan when we decorate the kitchen for birthdays.

Day #223: BLACK AND WHITE

This is the dress that I made a while back. I entered it in our county fair and got second place I think. It's kinda lame because they give out, like, twenty first place ribbons in the same category, and then a bunch of second place ones, and no third place ones. Nobody can be a loser, everyone has to win so no one feels bad. I could go off about that, but I'll spare you a monologue. (Too late!)

Day #224: SELF-PORTRAIT

Day #225: CLOSE-UP

I'm sure you all wanted to see this. It's my scar from banging my knee on a plyometric box at the gym, haha. Finally closed up. (I hit it in May.)

Day #226: COLORS

This is one of my favorite skirts. It is just flowy and wonderful.

Day #227: DRAMATIC LIGHT

Our blinds. You know the wonderful long, plastic ones that are a pain and a half? Yeah, those.

Day #228: FOOD

My sister and I bought these at the store yesterday. We're suckers for sour spray candy. :)

Day #229: LOOKING UP

This was me laying down under the coffee table my brother made and looking up into the corner. It just amuses me, the meticulous job he did of staining it. haha.

Honestly it's on the bottom and no one's every gonna see it, so why waste the stain? That's my reasoning. :)

Day #230: AROUND THE HOUSE

This is the back of our lamp that's like the Pixar one, ya know? the little switch that you turn is so stiff, I swear you need pliers to move the darn thing.

Well, I'll be in Maryland this week for a college visit so we will see how that goes.

Retro Dress

Introducing.....my retro dress!

Simplicity had a retro section in their book and I REALLY REALLY wanted to make this dress. (Despite my mother trying to convince me it was "weird.") haha!

It was really easy. I think that the bias tape all around the edges makes it look really fabulous. :)

I'm also finding that I have and obsession with gray and yellow at this moment. I had the gray and yellow leaf fabric and then I was trying to find something to match. I had a different yellow and then I happened to look over in the clearance and this adorable yellow and white fabric was there for only 2.99 per yard! Hurray for deals! It was also supposed to have snaps where these two front pieces meet but I didn't really feel comfortable with that. (What if I wanted to eat a brownie?) So eventually I went with buttons and ribbons. 

It was so fun to make and the full skirt makes me so happy! :)

365 Weeks #30 and 31

Day #203: SELF-PORTRAIT

This was Sunday. Since I was holding the camera it looks like I have mega-shoulders, which I sort of do because of volleyball, but they don't normally look like this in proportion to my head...

 Day #204: COLORS

A new/old project. Started forever ago, just finished.

 Day #205: FOOD

You cannot have summer with no watermelon. Period.

Day #206: COLOR

This is the top of my mousse can. I always thought it looked cool when you squirt it out and then it foams into the little fan shape on top. :)

Day #207: FOOD

Weird macaroni and cheese noodles. Cheesy explosion kind? 

Day #208: PEOPLE

This is my sister and my nephew. He was reaching out to the computer screen. I know it looks like it's posed because it looks like the screen was black, but it's just the angle.

Day #209: PEOPLE

My other nephew. We went to a river on Saturday and held the rope to the raft while he sat in it and thought that he was doing a great paddling job, haha.

Day #210: CLOSE-UP

I ran a kids volleyball camp all week for my club and had to get there by 8 every morning. bleh.

Day #212: FOOD

I really felt like something delicious so I made cookies and ate a bunch of dough. Satisfied.

Day #213: AROUND THE HOUSE

My brother Chad brought these back for all of us from his mission in Argentina. I lost mine for a little while and just found it! Hurray!

Day #214: NIGHT

It rained! Finally. I ran outside and watched the lightning for a while. :)

Day #215: LOOKING UP

My room was heart attacked when I got into mia-maids in young womens which was over three years ago. They put some fishing line around my light and stuck two sticker hearts to it and it's still there! haha.

 Day #216: CLOSE-UP

Some fabric I bought yesterday. This is also a sneaky-peaky of things to come! :)
